Emily Gustafson hails from North Carolina where she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and co-authored a paper with a UNC communications professor on Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the Slayage journal. Emily’s experience working at DC non-profits and consulting for the Federal Government specializes in project management and strategic communications. She has expertise with communications designed for diverse audiences, ranging from direct communications to small working groups to monthly newsletters reaching upwards of 5000 readers to drafting press releases quoted in national and international press reaching millions of readers worldwide. With her social media fluency, she has spearheaded outreach campaigns while serving as both copywriter and graphic designer for advertisements and promotional materials, such as advertisements featured at the American Idol Live! Tour that raised awareness of skin cancer. Emily hopes to help boost the signal for Legendary Women and its mission to promote the empowerment of women.
